The article examines the current content of the activities of shoplifters (shoplifters). The determinants of their illegal behavior are revealed, the classification of shoplifters is given, the methods and tricks used by them when committing theft of goods in stores are described. The content of the activity of the shadow market for the sale of stolen goods by shoplifters is investigated. It is concluded that the criminal phenomenon of shoplifting poses a significant public danger. At the same time, it is insufficiently studied in legal science and does not find proper opposition from the norms of criminal and administrative legislation.
