The article examines the problem of juvenile sabotage in the Russian Federation, which is included in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in the crimes against state power section. The results of a pilot study of the psychological characteristics of male minors who have committed acts of sabotage are presented. The relevance of the study is due to a significant increase in the number of such crimes in the context of hybrid conflicts and the active use of digital technologies for the recruitment of minors. The latent nature of cases involving minors in subversive activities through closed online communities and instant messengers makes it difficult to identify and prevent them in a timely manner. Normative consolidation of new types of subversive crimes in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation testifies to the recognition by the state of the special social danger of this phenomenon. At the same time, effective implementation of the provisions of Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 358 "On the Strategy for Integrated Child Safety until 2030" is impossible without a deep scientific understanding of the psychological determinants of illegal behavior of minors. The research methods used were psychodiagnostic testing – the Schmishek questionnaire (K. Leonhard, G. Shmishek), the SOP-M method, which evaluates the tendency to deviant behavior, the male version (A. N. Orel), the questionnaire of criminal contamination of minors (A. M. Ryabkov, M. R. Muslumov, E. S. Stepanova); the analysis of materials of personal files, primary questionnaires of minors. Statistical methods of data processing were also used: descriptive statistics, Spearman's correlation analysis, and comparative analysis. The sample consisted of 25 underage suspects, accused, convicted saboteurs. It has been established that this category is characterized by specific psychological features: a combination of latent aggressive tendencies with reduced critical thinking, communication problems, emotional and volitional immaturity, risk-taking and violations of value orientations, displacement of anxiety. Key risk factors were identified: conflicted family relationships (100 %), problems in the educational environment (conflicts with teachers – 83 %). Correlation analysis revealed significant links between hyperthymia and aggression, demonstrativeness and social maladjustment. It has been established that the motivation of crimes in this category of minors has specifics: selfish interest (thirst for money), the desire to earn authority and assert oneself by committing a crime, the influence of others, curiosity (search for thrills) prevail.
