PSYCHOLOGICAL PREVENTION OF SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR OF THE PENAL SYSTEM EMPLOYEES

Abstract (English):
In this article we examined the features of psychological prevention of suicidal risk, and also identified key preventive measures for the personnel of the penal system. The relevance of our study is manifested in the limited theoretical development of the specifics of the prevention of the risk of suicidal behavior in this group. Despite the importance of this problem, the analysis reveals the disadvantages that prevent a thorough approach to suicidal risk preventing. The problem of suicidal behavior and ways of its prevention are considered within the framework of key theories. The emergence of existential questions about the meaning of life, the inability to overcome life's troubles, the experience of difficult times in combination represent a beneficial environment for the formation of suicidal thoughts. Also specific factors of the occurrence of behavioral manifestations associated with the risk of suicide among employees of the penitentiary system and methods of their psychological prevention are presented. The object of the study was the employees of the pre-trial detention center of the Federal Penal Service of Russia in the Tambov region. The following methods were used to conduct the study: the A. Beck Depression Scale, the Suicide Risk Questionnaire, as well as the method of assessing neuropsychiatric stability «Prognosis».
