The article is devoted to the study of the features of ensuring economic security in institutions of the penal system. Economic security in the penal system is focused on eliminating the risks of loss of production potential, threats of reduced resource provision, increased cases of corruption, inefficient spending of public funds, embezzlement and embezzlement of budget funds. It is the work with risks, the development of mechanisms for their reduction, management and control that form the basis of economic security.
