THE ROLE OF PERCEPTUAL ABILITIES OF EMPLOYEES OF THE PENAL SYSTEM PERFORMING FUNCTIONS IN THE FIELD OF PROBATION
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article examines the importance and role of perceptual abilities of employees of the penal system working in the field of probation. The key aspects of the development of these abilities in the course of their professional activities are analyzed in detail. The methods and approaches that can contribute to improving the efficiency of employees' work, as well as influence the successful rehabilitation of convicts, are described. The urgency of this problem is emphasized, since professional activity in the penal system requires highly qualified personnel. An adequate perception of the convicted person by an employee contributes to a better understanding of his personal characteristics, goals and needs, and also allows predicting his further behavioral dynamics. To achieve significant results in this area, employees need to develop their perceptual abilities, which will help them cope with professional tasks more effectively. To achieve this goal, a pedagogical model was developed aimed at developing the perceptual abilities of employees of the correctional system performing probation functions. This model is a set of consistent actions aimed at achieving results, namely, improving the level of perceptual skills of employees of the penal enforcement system. The article substantiates the importance of perception for effective communication and interaction with convicts. It also offers methods and practical recommendations that will help probation professionals to improve their perceptual skills. These approaches contribute to the creation of more productive and trusting interaction with convicts, which, in turn, leads to successful re-socialization and correction of their behavior.
