The article presents the results of a socio-psychological study conducted among university students in 2024. The purpose of the study was to identify the perception and assessment by students of the main problems of modern economic development of the Russian Federation, interpretation the nature of these problems and the attitude expression of young people to these problems. The study identified the features of the perception of the main problems of socio-economic development of Russia by the younger generation, as well as the features of understanding by young people of the mechanisms of the public administration system in the context of large-scale social and economic transformations, severe economic restrictions from the collective West and endless sanctions pressure on the Russian economy. The study allows us to state a completely objective understanding by students of the situation in the country's economy, a calm and confident outlook of young people on the future, knowledge of the basic principles of behavior of the economically active part of society in the context of a market model of social relations. Students showed themselves to be socially responsible citizens who understand the economic situation in the country and are ready to engage in active labor activity.
