GAMIFICATION IN THE TRAINING OF A MODERN SCHOOL TEACHER: THEORY, PRACTICE AND PROSPECTS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
In modern conditions gamification as an innovative tool in education becomes an original direction for organizing perspective student activities. The realization of its potential is associated with the use of the best gaming practices, creative assimilation of educational material, and the development of key competencies of future teachers. Gamification in education increases the involvement and motivation of students, makes the learning process exciting and adapted to the needs of future teachers. At the same time such techniques as educational quests, virtual travel, competitions and quizzes, game characters, and the "Gamification in action" sketchbook play a special role. However, despite the widespread use of educational games, there is practically no regulation of this activity and definition of the possible scope of its application. It is noted that gamification, as one of the universal ways to achieve educational goals, is aimed at the intellectual development of students, the formation of logical and critical thinking, improving the ability to analyze a situation, and developing the ability to work in a team. Attention is also drawn to the potential of the business game, which includes educational and professional components used to implement quasi-professional activities of students. The advantages of introducing gamification into teacher training are highlighted, and methodological recommendations are formulated for the effective inclusion of gamification elements in the process of training future teachers.
