In the article, the problem of pedagogical authority is considered in the context of the legacy of X. Arendt. It is concluded that the ideas of the German-American thinker provide an opportunity to take a fresh look at a number of important problems for pedagogy. This undoubtedly requires a special monographic study of the texts of X. Arendt in the logic of further cognition of the object and subject of pedagogical science.
