The article analyzes the types of parental relationships and the personal development of a child in a family environment. In order to study the relationship between parental attitude and aggression of children a pilot empirical study was conducted. Parents and their school-age children took part in it. The leading method was a survey using a questionnaire by L. G. Pochebut and a test questionnaire by A. Ya. Varga, V. V. Stolin. The relationship between parental attitude and aggression of children was measured by Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. Conclusions are drawn about parental attitude as one of the factors in the development of a child's personal qualities. The results of the survey of parents and children are described. The empirical data obtained allow parents to think about the impact of their relationship on the development of children's personality, and teachers and psychologists to use them when working with families.
